Cold Water 2
February 7, 2001

Luckily though, he did make it the 2/3 neccesary to get beyond the deep water!
but I sure didn't envy him there.
When we run on water so easily, there is room for lots of mistakes, it is easy to forget the dang things won't just stop and sit there floating.
I know that is hard to understand, but when you are running at speed, the water feels harder than snow. It is like driving on pavement.
not so when you slow down!

Jeff tells us this is not as deep as that sled has been, If I had of known that, I could have told him it wouldn't work. that sled has already had a tramatic experiance! No wonder it conked out.
and OOOH that water is cold!

The day was cold, about 20 degrees, and it was snowing lightly.
I'm sure it was no fun dragging her out of the water but by the time she was on shore Jeff said he wasn't cold!
He pulled the plugs, dried out the cylinders, and she cranked back to life.

Although Sean's feet were soaked and Jeff...was soaked, we went on to climb this avalanche chute and get a grand view of the Kelsal river.
There was some great trail riding but getting photos of guys going 70mph down a narrow trail is not practical. but boy do I like my sled!
As for Jeff, he said he was already looking forward to the next trip!
I think he will fit right in with this crowd!
Thanks for taking this adventure with us.
