Here is where we had to leave the sleds,
It was heart wrenching, but there was just no way to take them further. What ice there was, was to thin and no banks to climb out on.
We were on foot.
What wasn't solid rock walls was Ice cascading in fantastic forms with trees growing out of it.
Just around the corner behind us, the plain was vast and open, then suddenly here we are in this narrow canyon snaking it's way up to an unseen lake,
This little bit of water under us is the headwaters of the mighty Chilkat River.
It would be a nice conclusion to this fantasy to say this is the actual headwaters, but it isn't.
Still it is a cool Ice formation right near the place!
Only one photo on the return trip to give you the idea we were having way to much fun Just Riding! You will have to come join us again on the next trip.
Until then, "GO BIG OR GO HOME"
