Ice Cave on Jarvis Glacier
March 17, 01

Today we started from the 33 Mile Roadhouse,(after breakfast of course) and jumped right into the Klehini Valley going north to the Canadian border.

Our goal: the Jarvis Glacier.
Today we had Sean and I, Jerry Lapp, Jim Hensley, and Sean's son Steven.

Jim Hensley
The river is now quite low. In most cases, we could just drive up the river in 4-6" of water, but finding a good in and out were sometimes difficult.

After you look and look, somebody (usually Sean)
Just says "hang it all" and jumps in driving up the river looking for a better exit.
(Notice the banks).

After crossing the river several times we ended up at the foot of the Jarvis Glacier.
Don't ask me why, but Jarvis Creek is the Headwater of the river in the Klehini Valley, just before you cross into Canada.
