Tsirku to Takhin
March 20,01 ... Page 2

If the river can't stop you by crowding the bank,
the avalanche does it's part to block your way.
It's a good thing I spent my childhood banging my head on walls, Great practice for this kind of life!
"I'm sure I can break through if I try hard enough"

Here is a good example of what the river looked like most of the time.
It gave us dozens of reasons to turn back, but I can't remember considering the idea.
It's not "can we cross?" but, "how are we going to cross?"

If you look long enough, and consider all the options,
one usually presents itself. But sometimes you have to know all the tricks to make it work.
Here we found a creek that presented a lower spot, with a reasonable ice edge to climb out on.
Don't hook a ski under that!

We made it as far as Nugget Creek, where there is quite a mining operation. (The first creek on the map across from the Takin Glacier).
The river got pretty tough and we really wanted to climb the challenge to the left,
Just for a change of pace you know.
