Above Walker Lake
March 23, 01 ... Page 2

This is a very common "meadow"
I call them that because it is flat (so to speak)
and there are no trees in them.
But they are really swamps with tundra and creeks winding through them like snakes. the water in them is warm and so the creeks dont freeze, and they make these huge ditches in the snow.
Riding through these "meadows" is like working your way through a maze.

Sometimes, but not often, you could jump them.
but the cost of failure was quite high.
With your sled poking vertical and not sticking out above the snow,
it would make for a very warm afternoon,
and maybe even a cold night!

The added degree of difficulty, is that you just can't see them until you are right on top of 'em!
There are actually 2 of the sneeky things between me and Sean. can you see them?

So we would climb out of one meadow and play the hillside,
Working our way to the next interesting experience!
