This photo is the first snow of the season, Dec. 12, 02

We have all been waiting, and getting sick of waiting! we didn't think snow would ever come!

2003 the New Season....Finally!

December 23, 2002

I just spent the evening plowing about a foot of snow from my driveway,
only to wake up to another foot.
After last nights snowfall we are finally back in buisness!
Let's go ride!!!!!

The crowd gathers
Drop a little snow and watch them come out of the woodwork!
we had quite the gathering for the first ride of the season.
People just don't have patience like they used to,
I mean it's only the end of December!

We decided to go for the Big Salmon river and made quite a train.
There were several long tracks along, and a good thing too!

Once we broke out onto the salmon it became clear that the snow was going to be difficult,
It was thick enough to float the front end but with no base the track dug right to gravel.
but it was light enough that it had no problem climbing up over the windshild and jumping all over your face!
It was tough going and took alot of work to keep her upright.

A few of us jumped out and made a run for it, just to see how we did, but most apparently turned back.
you couldn't blame them, this was like really deep Juneau snow, and nobody likes that!
