Walker Crash

Feb 17, 2004

30 Degrees F

The day after the rescue from the river we headed into walker lake via the upper road. None of us expected the sled with the "birtch" poiston to last long and we didn't want to have to drag it out of an inaccessible place. Besides, Walker is a fun place.

The only stipulation upon picking a ride, was "No water!" Here we are climbing off the road, straight up the side of a ridge, bypassing the usual trail.

Trent liked how his sled did in water, now we would find out how it did in snow!
Once we arrived on Walker we paused to reminisce about the old rides, these guys were in on the rides here when ours were the only tracks in.
We had fun, climbing the hills, jumping the bumps and generally running like hound dogs chaising squirls. It was alot of fun. The photos I have of just walker would normally fill a trip, but this was just a small part of our activites today so I will move on to the "Back door" to the upper meadows.

Here I am sitting on the hill where a narrow spot between some trees is the only way to whole lot of fun! Snaking between trees, breaking out into a small meadow then back through more trees. it is a narrow little draw between steep, thick, timbered hills.
