Yarder Trail to walker

March 20, 2004

21 Degrees F

Another exceptional day brought out several guys today.
Jerry (in the river), Mike (on the green sled), and Freddie Jr (red sled), Joined Sean, Steven (front sled) and I
on our quest to make fresh tracks into Walker Lake, via the Yarder Trail.
The river is way down so crossing is not even mentionable,
but we did stop to play in one pool before heading across to climb the hills.

From the river we took to the logging road to the Yarder which you see here, (thus the name of the trail) and this begins the trip. Depending on snow conditions this trail sometimes can be quite a challenge to conquer...Thus the appeal.

Here is Sean making new tracks searching for the way up.

Sean and I were once again pleased with our sleds after coming back down to find the others couldn't climb it.
Here is Mike digging for gold smack in the middle of the new trail!
