Nataga to Summit
Easter Weekend

April 10, 2004

51 Degrees F

Ok, so my Easter colors don't work real well but hey, it's Easter Weekend so deal with it!

The sun was so warm and spring is definitely in the air, so the destination today is Nataga and beyond.
This is Nataga Creek, It really is picturesque so I keep taking them.
For those unfamiliare, this is where the logging road leaves the river and begins the climb into Nataga.

The Juneau boys were to join us this morning but having spent all night talking to perfect strangers about the previous days ride, while partaking of throat lubrication, they had a tough time crawling out this morning. So we started this trip with Jerry, Chuck, Steven, Jim, as well as 2 Canadians, Rod and Rick. And of course Sean and I.
Made for a nice size crowed.

As is always the case with large groups, we usually spent a bit of time waiting for someone, but with a day as gorgeous as this one, nobody seemed to mind catching a few rays and talking.
One of the parties calling on his native ancetry, worked on his smoke signal techniques to let the others know where we were.
None of us knew he had any native blood, but then again, his smoke fire was nothing to call home about.

After the climb into nataga, we were finally on a real ride.
With a short play on some small hills, the group was gathered so off we went to find some soft snow.
