Big Salmon to Takhin Rivers

Here is Chuck doing the water dance in a very cool spot.
This was fortunately the best crossing place, so big points were made here.
Sean and I both got some great shots of this crossing, but photos of the same thing get quickly redundant on the web,
so we will reduce the number to a few.
The cool part about this crossing is the obvious rocks on the one side that add character points, and the steep snow banks that don't have to be explained or dramatized, then there is the difficult "in", the deep water with small rapids, and the "out" complications; a sharp turn to the gavel, and a steep, narrow snowbank that can toss you back into the river.
All this adds up to a very cool 9 point crossing!

This is the bank on the other side of the valley.
The river running from one side to the other with uncrossable banks the whole way.
This is the section of river that stops most sleds as you can now see why,
but today, due to the last crossing, we are on our way!

I have 94 photos of this trip, and Sean sent me several,
so it is very hard to limit them in order to keep this trip to an acceptable length.

So now we come to the Le Blondeau Glacier located on an un-named mountain.
and at the left is the saddle we climb to get into the Takhin River Valley, but we're not there yet!

I love this shot!
I had made a crossing at a somewhat technical place, then ran along the edge of the river to find maybe a better place.
Having run all the way to the far side without finding one, I parked it and enjoyed the sun while waiting for the others.
and waited, and waited.
Looking up I only saw the headlight of one sled, which told me chuck was stuck in the river. So off I go to lend a hand.
Coming up on the problem this is what I saw! and it wasn't Chuck.
