Baldy North Face

Page 2

At the upper end of our trail Jerry Lapp recently named the "Valley of the Shadow of Death", we found their tracks running through the trees, then turned left up a very tree infested, steep, lumpy, kinda trail sorta thing.
I was sure Chuck would volunteer to stay below, but I just had to make the run.

And was delighted to see him dive right in and make the climb!
That guy definitely wins the Most Improved Player Award.

After the climb through the steep timber trail, the timber runs light but the steep don't!
So we let the dogs loose and whoop it up as we make the climb up the chute.

To find ourselves at the base of the North Face!
you can just make out Mike's tracks at the top left of the photo climbing the rocks.
(Wave your mouse over the photo and you can see the same black rock outcroping on the bigger photo.)
