Walker lake
After spending so much time looking at this slope I had to try to climb it.
I was kinda surprised the sled did so well and it was quite a climb to a small bench.
Just as I arrived there, my belt shredded from the heavy snow and hard work.
I was able to park it on the bench and change belts.
This is Walker Lake looking from the south, so now I've seen this lake from every angle!
Little Salmon Creek
(just left of the previous photo)
On my way up I got a shot of the trench that keeps us out of the Little Salmon Lake. It is hard to explain but there just aint no way into it...Yet I have had my sled on top of that ridge, (That's Baldy), so just maybe I could drop down the backside there...
Aww heck, lets keep riding,
These are my tracks, and I could have kept going...I think, but coming down is way too fast today and I just barely got it stopped before going over the edge, so I quickly thought I should use the ol' "I don't want to burn my last belt" idea.
(You can see these tracks in the photo on the last page, taken from the truck).
This is the rockslide just past the beaver ponds on the way to the Big Salmon.
